Picture of Automotive Technology

The mission of the Automotive Technology Program is to enable the students to obtain a thorough understanding of the design, construction, and theory of the operation within the automotive systems and their relationship to the complete automobile. This course will provide you with a thorough understanding of the methods of servicing and repairing automotive vehicles. Each unit of study is approached by starting with the basic theory involved. You will receive actual experience on vehicles with factory approval methods of repairing and maintaining these vehicles.

Picture of Biomedical Technology

     The Biomedical Technology Program’s mission is to provide the technical instruction and skill development to enable students to become successful in the allied health field or biotechnology. Students will learn laboratory procedures fundamental to biomedical research including micropipetting, recombinant DNA, and cell culture. The curriculum includes lecture, laboratory activities, student presentations, and guest speakers. Topics include: scientific research, anatomy and physiology, clinical laboratory skills, cardiac monitoring, basic pharmacology, medical terminology, communication, medical math, and workplace skills. 

Picture of Business Systems Technology

The mission of the Business Systems Technology Program is to provide technical training through traditional and distance instructional delivery systems to enable students to become successful employees in the Administrative and Accounting Support fields. The Business Systems Technology program will provide you with the necessary skills to obtain an entry-level job in an office environment.

Picture of Computer Information Technology

The mission of the Computer Information Technology Program is to prepare and develop students so they can acquire and retain employment in the high-tech Computer Networking Technology field upon graduation through traditional and distance education.  Hands-on, real world experience within an individualized objective-based program with personal instruction prepare each student to pass the A+, N+, S+ and Microsoft Certifications.

Picture of Concrete Technology

The Concrete Technology Program’s mission is to provide the technical instruction and skill development to enable the students to become successful in the concrete industry. Topics covered will include: Introduction and Safety ,Properties of Concrete, Structural Design, Materials, Print Reading, Concrete Forming, Job Prep, and Concrete Testing Prep, and Work Base Training. The curriculum includes lecture, laboratory activities, field trips and guest speakers. 

 

Picture of Cosmetology

The cosmetology program's mission is to provide the necessary training in the theory and clinical knowledge for the student to be successful with the cosmetology workforce.  Instruction is designed to qualify students for employment upon graduation and to aid in the passing of the State Board of Cosmetology Exam, which consists of written and practical tests.

The mission of the Dental Assisting Program is to guide selected individuals through  educational experience to become personally, professionally, and socially effective dental assistants. Dental Assistant Program’s purpose is to provide learning experiences which enable graduates to obtain basic competencies needed for employment as a Dental Assistant in a dental office, State, Federal, or private clinic, or public and private educational facilities.

Picture of Drafting & CAD Technology

The mission of the Drafting and CAD Technology Program is to provide competency-base training of the highest quality through traditional and distance instructional delivery systems that will qualify individuals for employment in the drafting field. This course will provide you with a thorough understanding of the methods of computer aided drafting. Each unit of study is approached by starting with the basic theory involved. You will receive actual experience using current AutoCAD software to design and produce engineering drawings.

Picture of Industrial Electrical Maintenance

The mission of the Industrial Electrical Maintenance Program is to provide diversified maintenance training to students to meet the occupational needs of the prospective employers in our community. This course will provide you with a thorough understanding of the methods of diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment. Each unit of study is approached by starting with the basic theory involved. You will receive actual experience on equipment with factory approved methods of repairing and maintaining them.

Picture of Machine Tool Technology

The mission of the Machine Tool Technology Program is to provide required technical instruction and skill development for the student to become gainfully employed. This course will provide you with a thorough understanding of the methods of machining and fabrication of metal into tools and parts. Each unit of study is approached by starting with the basic theory involved. You will receive actual experience with lathes, mills, and grinders, and the CNC/CAM equipment and precision measuring instruments that work with it.

Picture of Pharmacy Technician

The mission of the Pharmacy Technician program is to provide the technical instruction and skill development for the student to become gainfully employed in the pharmacy field. The purpose of the Pharmacy Technician program is to provide learning experiences which enable graduates to obtain basic competencies needed for employment as a Pharmacy Technician in either the institutional or retail setting. A technician is an individual who, under the supervision of a pharmacist, assists in the performance of activities of the pharmacy department not requiring the professional judgment of a pharmacist. Technicians must be appropriately trained for functions performed.

Picture of Phlebotomy

The mission of the Phlebotomy Program is to provide the technical and skill development to enable the students to become successful upon the completion of the program. The curriculum includes classroom study and supervised clinical practice in hospitals.  The Phlebotomy student must complete the prescribed course of study and clinical experience to receive a certificate.  This course prepares the student to take the national certification exam.

Picture of Practical Nursing

The mission of the Practical Nursing Program is to provide the technical instruction and skill development for the student to become gainfully employed in the nursing field. This course will provide you with the technical instruction and skill development for you to become gainfully employed in the nursing field. The Practical Nurse works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician or as an assistant to the professional nurse. Practical Nurses in Tennessee must be professionally trained under guidelines set by and accreditation given by the Tennessee State Board of Nursing.

Picture of Surgical Technology

The mission of the Surgical Technology Program is to provide an educational experience designed to produce Surgical Technologists, competent at the entry-level position, and successfully prepared to take the National Certification exam. This course will train individuals to prepare the operating room, select and care for instruments, and assist the surgeon and the nursing team during surgery. The program consists of six months of theory and lab practice and six months of clinical practice where the students receive supervised practice in real situations that occur in the natural setting.

Picture of Technology Foundations

Technology Foundations is an individualized, computer-based course designed to provide you with the information processing skills necessary for performance in your chosen profession. The primary focus of this course is Basic Skills in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, and Locating Information. Students are assessed in the Basic Skills areas upon enrollment. This assessment prescribes remediation in skill areas with deficits. Students attend 2 hours twice weekly until they have mastered the criteria prescribed.
