Drafting & CAD Technology

Picture of Drafting & CAD Technology

The mission of the Drafting and CAD Technology Program is to provide competency-base training of the highest quality through traditional and distance instructional delivery systems that will qualify individuals for employment in the drafting field. This course will provide you with a thorough understanding of the methods of computer aided drafting. Each unit of study is approached by starting with the basic theory involved. You will receive actual experience using current AutoCAD software to design and produce engineering drawings. You will receive a high degree of individual instruction and learn the use of tools, special equipment, technical manuals, computers and design methodology. Written and performance tests are given to record your progress.

If you qualify, you may spend part of your training day working part-time in an industry with a company in the local area. You may be able to earn money, gain experience on the job, and learn in the actual work environment while enrolled at the Center.
