The mission of the Pharmacy Technician program is to provide the technical instruction and skill development for the student to become gainfully employed in the pharmacy field. The purpose of the Pharmacy Technician program is to provide learning experiences which enable graduates to obtain basic competencies needed for employment as a Pharmacy Technician in either the institutional or retail setting. A Pharmacy Technician student is provided training on PioneerRX, which is software used in retail pharmacy. The software is provided by New Tech Computer Systems. www.newtechsys.com. A technician is an individual who, under the supervision of a pharmacist, assists in the performance of activities of the pharmacy department not requiring the professional judgment of a pharmacist. Technicians must be appropriately trained for functions performed.

This Pharmacy Technician program is accredited by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists.

Admission Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Provide a regular high school diploma or GED transcript (must submit with application)
• Complete TTCM application
• Provide letters of reference
• Physical exam with proof of TB test and required immunizations
• Personal interview
• Pass COMPASS Test

Students are subject to drug screening and criminal background checks based upon clinical affiliation agreements.

Cost of training includes textbooks, supplies, personal items, liability insurance, and tuition. Financial Aid is available for those who qualify. COMPASS Schedule
