Phlebotomy
 Course Description The mission of the Phlebotomy Program is to provide the technical and skill development to enable the students to become successful upon the completion of the program.
The curriculum includes classroom study and supervised clinical practice in hospitals. The Phlebotomy student must complete the prescribed course of study and clinical experience to receive a certificate. This course prepares the student to take the national certification exam. The purpose of the Phlebotomy Program is to train or retain students in drawing blood via venipuncture or skin puncture and to provide experiences which allow the student to acquire basic competencies for employment as a Phlebotomist. Each student will participate in approximately six (6) weeks of clinical training. Hours of operation at each medical center will very; therefore, the student schedules must be flexible and willing to meet the assigned schedule. The schedule will provide maximum training experience within a particular facility. Training Schedule
CLASSROOM HOURS: MONDAY FRIDAY 7:45-2:30 Clinical hours: varies with each site Course Length
Four months or one Trimester (432 CLOCK HOURS) Enrollment dates are January, May and September Admission Requirements
Must be 18 years of age or older. Provide a regular high school diploma or GED transcript. (must submit with application) Complete TTCM application process. Physical exam with proof of TB test and required immunizations Personal interview. Pass COMPASS Test.
Students are subject to drug screening and criminal background checks based upon clinical affiliation agreements.
